Spotify has stopped playing in Android Auto

Android Auto boots fine, but when I try to play Spotify it just pauses instantly (no sound). I also think the sound won't work in Waze through android auto either. Sound plays fine through car headset audio (Bluetooth) so not a speaker issue.

It was working fine this morning, issue occured this evening. So far I have tried clearing the cache from both AA and Spotify, restarting phone, force stopping both apps, checking for updates, changing the USBC cable, locking and unlocking the car (thus rebooting the headset). Any help greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Community! We're happy to shed some light on the situation.

We suggest going through the steps of a clean reinstall, if you haven't tried it already.

If this doesn't do the trick, can you unpair and re-pair your phone with your car?

On another note, would you mind trying with a different phone to check if that makes a difference?
