My Question or Issue

I had the player open and swiped up to close it on the Android "running apps" page.

The full-size player closed but then the mini-player fired up and resumed play (!!!)

I couldn't find any way to close the mini-app. I could re-launch the main app by clicking on the mini-player, but again the main app closed and the mini-player remained.

Using "force close" is not an acceptable response.
I'd like to be able PREVENT the mini-player from launching when I close the main app, and to be able to CLOSE the mini-player if it happens to be active.

I've un-installed Spotify pending finding a way to close the app.

Welcome to the Community and thank you for posting.

We understand you already reinstalled the app, could you try running a clean reinstall? This one is more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.

If this doesn't work, please share with us your Android and Spotify app version.

We'll be on the lookout.
