Galaxy Watch 4 current track doesn't update when skipping forward

My Question or Issue

The currently playing track doesn't update when I skip forward tracks on my watch.

Scenario details:

Play music on Spotify on my phone

Tap music note icon on bottom of watch display

Spotify watch app opens showing currently playing track

Tap the skip track button

The next song plays

However, the Spotify watch app still shows that the previous track as the currently playing track (it doesn't update)

No matter how long I wait or how many times I skip forward to new tracks the app still shows the originally playing song

If I close the Spotify watch app and reopen it then it shows the newly playing track

I only have this issue with the Spotify app. The Samsung music tile works fine.
