My Question or Issue

Have latest version of spotify on phone and Samsung galaxy 3 smartwatch.

When start car, spotify will automatically start playing when connected to Bluetooth (which I don't want).

Even worse, when I stop the car, spotify will then continue playing on phone, but does not display that it is playing in the spotify app. The only way to stop it, is by closing all apps.

Please provide solution as feel spotify has really gone down hill of late. These issues were never there with earlier versions.

We've received reports about the app playing music automatically after connecting to a Bluetooth audio device. Usually this is controlled by the device OS itself and the reason is that the autolaunch and autostart functions are dependent on the way a device is configured to interact with the app API.

There's an idea that requests the possibility to disable autoplay after connecting through Bluetooth. You can leave a +VOTE and Subscribe to the thread for any updates.

Lastly, we suggest you take a look at this thread which covers a similar issue. The top answer lists some solutions that have worked for other users after tweaking some device settings.
