Plan

Premium

Country

Sweden

Device

Asus Chromebook Flip C434

Operating System

Chrome OS

My Question or Issue

The android app doesn't work on my Chromebook. After one or two songs, my device gets suuuuper slow, the cursor freezes every two or three seconds and the songs starts to stutter. Sometimes the app causes the whole Chromebook to freeze and I need to restart the whole device. As soon as I close the app the problem is gone. I've tried the android troubleshoot checklist but the problem remains the same. If I'm using the web player there's no problem at all, and I don't have any problems with my account on my phone or anywhere else. Any ideas on what I can do?

Hey there @rebecca_lun,

Welcome to the Spotify Community and thanks for posting here.

At the moment Spotify doesn't support an official desktop app for Chromebook. The best thing for you to do would be to continue using the Web Player.

You can check this support site article to find out more info about the operative system requirements to run our Spotify app.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted!

Hi @sizzlemeat,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

Currently we don't have an official Chromebook app yet, so we recommend using the Web Player.

Alternatively, you can install the latest Android version of Spotify, however, your Chromebook needs to be a 2018 or later model. This Spotify version is the same one as the Android app.

Let us know if you have any questions!

Thank you. I have a new Chrmebook (2021) and the Spotify app crashes
everytime I open it. I will use the web version but hope there will be a
legit compatible Chromebook version in the future.
