UI freezes after clicking play/skip button

My Question or Issue

Every time I start playing song or skipping song, all UI freezes for a few seconds. I can't push down the notification bar, scroll through the app, or change volume. Sometimes app even "crashes" into lock screen. In all scenarios above the music is playing just fine.

I tried reinstalling the app, restarting phone, updating phone software.

Thanks for posting in the Community and the troubleshooting you've already tried.

Do you mind performing a clean reinstall with the steps described here? How did it go?

As you mentioned the app crashing at the moment the screen gets locked, I thought of the battery/memory optimization settings of the device. Could you have a look at them and make sure, that Spotify is set as an exception and has permissions to run in the background? On this site you can find some guidance on how to find the correct settings, but they can also vary on your end.
