When I listen to Spotify on my SGS3 via an external speaker (3,5 mm) or head phones the maximum level is too low. If I lower the volume and then push it up again the volume is loud for a part of a second before it is lower again. When I play songs via Youtube or the built in music player it is normal. My sons Android mobile, with an older version of Spotify, is loud and clear. My version is 0.6.6.270.

Have you tried turning off the spotify equaliser (audio effects)?

I've tried that now and it works. Too bad the sound is really bad then. Why is it that way? Why can't the eq work with normal volume?

It seems to be partly subtractive so cranking up one band may actually be reducing others.
