Will Listening To Kids Music Screw Up My Suggestions?

Hey guys.

I have been using Spotify personally for some time now. My concern is I have a 1 year old and like playing kids music on my Google Home (which is connected to my Spotify account) while we eat in the kitchen.

Will this screw with my suggestions going forward? Anything I can do to tell Spotify "I don't really want to associate my account with kids music", and ignore that genre?

Hi Geefer,

My brother and his wife have the same problem! Unfortunately I think it will influence your suggestions. I believe even if you select "Private Session" or a private playlist, your streams will still be logged (and weighted) by Spotify. Only solution I can think of is to log out of your account when playing kids music, or have a separate account. Curious to know if you find a work-around!

I have created a new spotify kids account for my son. How do I get rid of all of the kids stuff on my own account?

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

As the Spotify Kids app uses a different profile to play the music, this content will not affect future recommendations or listening activity in your account. However, music recommendations are based on listening history and cannot be deleted right away.

To update the recommended music in your account, we'd suggest listening to more artists and genres you liked. The more new music, artists and genres you listen to, the faster you can influence the suggestions to show you songs relevant to what you like.
