My Question or Issue

With the latest update, you've brought back a long-solved problem.

Situation: I keep listening to the Favorite Songs playlist. I exit the Spotify app and open another app. Meanwhile, Spotify stops the current song. Then I close this second app. Press PLAY in the Spotify app. The paused song is played to the end then a RANDOM SKIP to an artist happens. Then there will only be songs by this one artist. All songs by this artist are played.

Thanks for posting in the Community.

Is it always the same artist that starts playing after your Liked songs?

Have you already tried clearing the play queue of your device? This looks like an issue with an item in the play queue at a first glance.
Here is more on how to do that.

If this doesn't resolve the issue, try logging out and back in again a few times. Restarting your device after that would be helpful too.

In case you still experience the issue, could you let us know if it persists when you're using the app on a different device.
