podcast will not play

After reading all the helps on the above question when the app freezes I've tried: shut/restart, exiting/signing in again, music plays, podcasts do not, turning wifi on/off, making sure the gadget is fully charged, checking play on this device and the icon continues spinning as if it's looking for this device, probably would play on the speaker. I usually fall asleep on an episode and need to mark unplayed and play again but it's jammed.
So if I want uninterrupted play I'd have to create a playlist, download all the episodes and set timer.

Can you please give us a bit more info about your particular setup and your issue so we can help you further? We'll need:

The model of the speaker.
The model, OS version and Spotify version of the device you're trying to start the playback from.
A video of the issue or a full description of it with as much detail as possible.
