spotify keeps pausing

Using Oppo (Android), I pay for premium and have all songs downloaded. I've tried clearing cache, uninstalling, logging out of all devices, updating app and phone. It happens when connected to bluetooth but also when playing straight from my phone and will pause every few seconds so impossible to play a full song.

We can recommend that you check the phone's battery settings and make sure that Spotify is set as an exception if you're using the battery optimization option.

It's also a good idea to check if Spotify has the permissions to run in the background. Make sure that those are enabled.

If that's not causing the issue and you're still experiencing this, could you ask a friend or a family member to log in to their personal account using your device to see if the app behaves the same way?
