Equalizer stops working when switching apps

Hello,

My spotify Equalizer turns off whenever i open a different app. When those apps are closed it turns back on.

It makes my ears bleed, any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, we recommend you to start off with a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your device. By doing that the app can be up-to-date and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this inconvenience. You can see the steps for a clean reinstall here.

If the above doesn't do the trick, would you mind sharing with us the exact OS version of the affected device, along with the Spotify version you're running there?

Lastly, just to confirm, has the app always been behaving like this or does it start to happen after a specific event such as an OS update? Please send us the details about it. Is this happening no matter what app you choose to open while listening to Music on Spotify?

Can you let us know the exact OS version of the affected device and the Spotify version you're running there?

Also, does the equalizer stop working when you minimize the Spotify app or after you play audio from another app and then go back to Spotify?

Hi Alex,

Turned out Spotify was not the culprit. Some stupid in-app overlay was turned on. Something called Hyperboost for Oneplus. I turned that off and now i can open different apps while listening to spotify again (without ruining my ears). Maybe you can keep that in mind for people who have this issue later on :).
