Now playing bar on Android will not go away.

I thought there used to be a way to close the now playing bar on the bottom. Instead when I'm trying to scroll I hit it causing it to move to the next or previous song. Is there a way to close it out? I've rebooted my phone, force stopped, and did a clean reinstall.

Currently, there is no way to hide the Now Playing bar on Android. In the past, there was a Spotify test in which the bar would hide automatically in some menus, this is most likely what you've seen. Nevertheless, we've made sure to pass on your feedback about this feature on to the right folks at Spotify 🙂

Couple years later and this issue just started happening on my Galaxy Fold 6. Very frustrating when searching for music or podcasts and the now playing bar won't go away even when music isn't playing. I have tried clearing cache, data, uninstall, reset the phone. It constantly shows the last Playlist that was playing even if it was from days ago. What's weird is that is just started for me, I've been using Spotify since well before your original post and never had this happen.

Currently, as @Alex mentioned, it's not possible to hide the Now Playing bar on the app. You should always see it at the bottom of the screen, and it should display what you're currently listening to or what you listened to last time you used the app. Nevertheless, it doesn't show the name of the playlist. So we can take a better look of what you mean, could you send us a screenshot?
