My Question or Issue

I've unfollowed some podcasts within the past months, but I still keep receiving push notifications of new episode releases.

In particular it's one podcast: The Moonshot Podcast.

I've tried following and unfollowing, turning the bell on and off multiple times, but without result.

What else can I try?

Thanks for the post.

Can you check if the podcast is unfollowed from another device as well? Open the podcast on another device and follow/ unfollow the podcast. It's possible that there is an issue with the sync on your phone.

Let us know if that works.

I have the same problem on Android 12 and the Spotify version 8.8.80.599. In addition to the problem of seeing new episodes on homepage for podcasts that I unfollowed months ago and while this is still unfixed despite years and years of reporting here, now we experience this nonsense. I am attaching the screen recording of this mess. It's from Daily podcast. It is unfollowed and the notification bell icon is not selected. Yet, I receive notification.

And yes, the only other device I am using to listen to Spotify is web player on Chrome and I checked The Daily there as well and it is unfollowed and the notification bell is turned off. In addition, the sync problem is on Spotify, not on the phone, and therefore, you should fix this. If the phone app is playing a song perfectly without downloading, it means it can communicate with the server and the sync in theory is possible. If this is a sync problem, you guys should fix this as well. We are not about to go and check every device we sign in and use to see if they are all unfollowed.
