how do I stop autoplay?

when I open spotify it selects a random tune from a random playlist and starts playing. this loses my place in podcasts, audiobooks and other playlists. i want it to stop autoplaying. the help on spotify website directs me to options which dont even exist in the android version

In the settings, you need to find the marked button and turn off the function of automatic playback of other similar content

I'm experiencing the same issue. The "autoplay similar content" setting is off. Samsung s20. Whenever opening the app, it starts playing the Liked Songs playlist on shuffle. Really annoying and I'd like it to not do that.

Yep. Same issue as me. Now you mention it. It is the liked songs playlist, on random mode, which it plays.

The affected device & its OS version
Your Spotify app version
A link to a video recording of the issue or a few screenshots, showcasing the issue at hand

Tip: It should be possible to upload a .mp4 recording to the forum, but if that doesn't work or the file is too large, you can upload it to YouTube/ Google Drive/ etc. and send us a link here. Just make sure access is set to public.
