Android head unit does not see music downloaded on computer

My Question or Issue

I started downloading music directly from spotify on the Android HU- but after seeing it would take hours- I cancelled the downloads- instead using spotify on my desktop computer and directing spotify to download the music to the same folder on the SD card. After putting the SD card back into the Android HU, it doenst see any of that music. Total bummer. 12gb over cellular is not as quick as in the house.

Is there any way I can get spotify on the android HU to see these downloaded songs/playlists?

Hey @Frimp42,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

Since the downloads on Spotify are stored as cache files of the app, the downloaded content needs to be device-specific so it can be recognized to be played offline.

Taking this into account, we'd recommend connecting your Android head unit to a nearby Wi-Fi connection to increase the speed of the process and download the music directly on it.
