Spotify widget not showing on lock screen

Just in the past week or so, the Spotify widget won't show up on the lock screen, even though there's music playing. My widget just says "no music playing". This is the only app I've had this issue with, and it's just one of a few that started happening just recently.

Uninstalling and reinstalling temporarily fixed it, but I expect the issue to come back shortly. The app just needs an update, I figure.

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.

Just to confirm, is this only happening in the notification bar while on lock screen or it doesn't show the now playing song in the widget in your phone either?

On another note, you mentioned that you've already reinstalled the app, but would you mind going through the steps of a clean reinstall, as it's more thorough than a normal one?

Lastly, we suggest that you check if the OS of your phone has any pending updates.
