On lock screen controls, pressing skip back 15 seconds is instead skipping forwards.

I am also facing same issue. For my Android phone ( Realme GT2 Pro), pressing forward by 15 seconds on a podcast makes it go back by 15 seconds and pressing 15 seconds back forwards it by 15 seconds. i.e. the buttons have been interchanged on lock screen.

This type of issue is commonly related to some damaged cache stored on the device. In this case, we'd first recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this article. This is often an overlooked step, but it's more thorough than a quick one and can be helpful in getting rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.

If the issue persists, include in your next response the make, model and OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.

In this case, would you mind checking on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out.

If the issue persists, could you check if it happens with all the shows you tried, or if it's just with one specific show? Also, include in your next response the URI of the podcasts affected to take a closer look on our end.

Can you please confirm you're not using a custom launcher for your phone? Also, does the same thing happen when the podcast is playing on a different device and you're using your phone as a remote control through Spotify Connect?

I don't think it's possible to provide a screen recording of my lock screen. The issue is exactly what's described in this topic. The lock screen media controls for skipping backwards and forwards 15 seconds on podcasts on Spotify are reversed

Skip forward/back icons on the lockscreen widget are reversed; if I press the skip forward button (on the RHS), it skips back, and vice-versa. This is only on the lockscreen, in the main app, they function as expected

There's a couple things you could try:

Go to device settings and switch off lock screen notifications completely, this should prevent the playback bar from showing. Once you've confirmed it's not showing, switch them back on and see if the issue persists
Restart your device
Try removing the SD card for a while, if there's any.
Lastly, perform a clean reinstall using the steps listed here . It should really be the last resort because it will get rid of downloads and some preferences possibly.

From my lock screen, when I use the fast-forward 15s button it rewinds 15s. When I rewind 15s, it fast forwards 15s

Thanks for the post.

Sorry to hear that you're having such an experience with the app.

We'd recommend running a clean reinstall of the app. Please follow the steps from this Spotify Guide exactly, as this will assure that all app data is cleared completely, before reinstalling.

Also, make sure that Battery optimization is not enabled for Spotify from the system app settings, as well as that the app is granted all permissions. These settings could be hindering the performance of the app.

I do notice that those controls only show on podcasts though. But the functions are still reversed

Rewind button on lockscreen for podcasts forwards instead of rewind. Deleted downloads, cleared cache, uninstalled and reinstalled app. Nothing worked. Happens with both bluetooth audio, phone speakers.

We've found a similar report by another OnePlus user and thus suspect that the issue is device related. We'd suggest reaching out to your device's manufacturer and checking if there are any system settings that might be causing this behavior.

I also have the problem that pushing the rewind button on the lockscreen, while listening to a podcast does actually forward the podcast. It works fine if I press the rewind button in the app, or when I use my headphone controls to rewind. I have had this problem on my last phone, a OnePlus 8 and my current phone, a OnePlus 11.
