Why are my playlist hours different based on device?

My Question or Issue

when I'm playing music on my computer, my phone shows that I have 71 hours in my playlist. When I'm playing music on my phone, it says i have 31 hours. I only have a few hidden songs and none of the songs in the playlist are premium only songs. Why wont my playlist show 71 hours when I'm not connected to my computer?

Thanks for reaching out to the Community and welcome!

Take into account Spotify Free works differently on the Web Player and desktop app, and the app on mobile devices. From the app on your mobile device, you can only play the playlists on Shuffle and songs will be added as recommendations. That's the reason why the total time when playing from your phone, increases.

Now, when you're playing from the desktop app or Web Player, you can play on-demand, which means you can pick which song you want to listen to, and the recommendations won't be added.

You have nothing to worry about, your playlists are just fine, and if they're public and you share them with someone else, they will only get the songs you've added.

As much as that makes sense, the time on my ohone decreases..it doesn't increase like you said. Also i dont really get recommendations playing, all the songs that play in that playlist even if its for hours just repeat and whenever i check, i manually added the song on the playlist. The playlist time increases when im on my computer, not phone.

We appreciate your feedback regarding this case. The right folks are aware of the situation and are currently checking on this to find a solution. Since we don't have a specific date for this to be resolved, we'd recommend keeping checking the total playlist time on your computer in the meantime.

We'd also recommend keeping your Spotify app updated, so you don't miss any improvements coming your way.
