Google Nest commands not working

My Question or Issue

I've tried three, and it's not getting them. For example, saying "Hey Google, play the 'Slam! Poetry Podcast" gets me "Sure, here's ;Poetry Slam TV (Audio)..." and it's in German or something. Why?

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

Just to confirm, have you set Spotify as the default music service on your Google account? If you haven't, keep in mind that you'll need to do it, so you don’t have to say “on Spotify” at the end of your voice commands. You can follow the steps in this article to do it. If you prefer not to set Spotify as default, then you'll need to say on Spotify at the end of the commands.

If the above doesn't do the trick, you can try the following to see if you notice any difference:

Unlink the Spotify account from your Google account. You can follow these steps to do it. You can link the accounts later.
Soft reset your Google Nest. To do it, turn it off, then on.
Make sure both the Google Nest is up-to-date.

Since you mentioned the assistant is in a different language, we'd suggest you give a look at this article to change it. Nonetheless, keep in mind that if you continue struggling with the language of the speaker, then you should contact Google customer support, so they can add more insights.
