I wanna know EXACTLY why they took away playing songs in any order on mobile and tablet versions of Spotify, when you dont have Premium.

Thanks for reaching out!

Playing on demand on mobile has always been a Premium-only feature with the exception of some running tests you might have been a part of.

The good news is this is still a feature for free users on the desktop app, so I'd suggest using that for playing on demand when you don't have Premium.

My Question or Issue

Spotify on my Xiaomi HyperOS tablet is not allowing me to choose the song, shuffle, add to queue, loop. Like the version on mobile. The biggest problem is that it is not allowing me to choose the song, instead only allowing me to play the playlist which the songs are then random. The problem started on the night of 10 November 2025. Spotify worked like it should on a tablet before that.

I have a tablet with Android (Pixel) and another one with HyperOS. With the Android Pixel tablet I can choose any song, but with the HyperOS tablet I cannot. With same account, free plan in Spain
