My Question or Issue

My liked songs is a playlist of about 8,000 songs long, and every time that I want to play anything from it, even if I'm already listening to it and want to switch songs, the app hangs for 10 seconds. I press play, sit there and wait, and then eventually it starts playing. This has been the case as long as I can remember. It is a genuine extreme pain point, and the fact that it still exists is kind of absurd. It is trivially reproducible, trivially observable, and is likely due to some inane o(n squared) operation being done on playlists at playtime.

Could you please fix this?

Have you tried deleting the cache of the Spotify app or reinstalling your Spotify app like shown here?

Yes, several times, this has been a constant across the three phones I've used and has been present for years.

Nice troubleshooting so far. Taking into account that it happens across devices, it's possible that the issue could be account-related keeping in mind that huge libraries may affect the proper behavior of the app.

So to check if this could be an account-related issue, it would be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your device - such as a friend or a family member, to see if the issue persists.

If it works as expected, we'd recommend clearing some of the content you have on your Liked songs to avoid longer loading times when using it.
