My Question or Issue

I noticed that recently when I switch on the "Dark mode" while Spotify is playing on my TV, the background doesn't really turn black like it used to. Now the background shows grey, so the TV keeps the backlight on. Now this is something that was changed on recent versions of Spotify. I don't know exactly when this was changed but I guess maybe 1 or 2 months ago. The old version was actually displaying black background, which not only looked nicer but also saves more energy on the TV.

For the reference, I have an OLED TV so the it can display perfect blacks with no backlighting at all.

Please bring back fully black background when using Dark Mode.

Yup, same problem. This is really bad because what's the point of dark mode if the screen is bright and burning the display. Spotify, FIX THIS!

Same here on my LG G3 WebOS 24 tv. It’s a really nice feature to have at night time, and I’d come to really enjoy using it with my connected sound system. Now my whole screen illuminates the room that Spotify grey colour - I really hope it’s an accident as it was a really good quality of life thing, and it’s a shame to lose it.

Same it's not what it's used to be. I opened my TV play spotify then dark mode in a dark room it's really good but now it's too bright.

Looks like the issue was silently fixed. I no longer have back light in dark mode.

Can anyone else confirm?
