set download on PC/desktop for Android/mobile possible?

It seems to me the only way to prepare music for offline use for premium subscribers, we have to do it from the device but I was wondering if there's a way to do it from the desktop client to send it to said device since that would be a lot easier IMO

In the desktop client can you not manage offline playlists by clicking on the Device in the sidebar?

Yeah its there; its been ages somehow I forget about certain things when I totally ignore spotify for awhile.
