Hey @Cthopper231, welcome to the Community!

It's not possible to have both apps producing audio at the same time. You'll need to either listen to music or listen to an audiobook.

I happen to have mistakenly done it various times on my phone. Where
Spotify plays without the notification icon in the corner then I''m free to
add Audible and both can play together. Just not sure how it happens.

Yes, you can, as of 2025.

This is an old post, but one of the first to pop up when googling for this question, so I'll say it here:

1) Go to the "Galaxy App Store" (NOT the Google Play Store) and download the free "Sound Assistant" by Good Lock Labs.

2) In the Sound Assistant app, select "Multisound", and choose which apps you want to play sound simultaneously. Or be like me and simply switch on the "All Apps" slider.

This should allow you to play Audible and any apps (like Spotify) simultaneously.

Yet another option in the Sound Assistant app will allow you to mess around with Individual App Volumes, named as such.

Under "Individual App Volume" tab, select the "+", select the desired app from the list, and at the top right select the vertical "...". From there, you can add the app to a list of app volume sliders, which you can further customize and also access whenever you use the volume buttons on the side of phone (access them by clicking on the "..." that is directly on the volume slider that appears when you press the buttons).

With all this, you should easily be able to play any apps you want together, and customize their individual volumes.
