ALL music from Spotify plays too fast, I've tried everything.

I use an android phone. This happens on my Bluetooth speaker, my wired headphones, and by playing straight from my phone's speaker.

ALL music is playing as if it's been sped up slightly. There are no speed controls for music. How did this happen and why can't I fix it?

I've updated, reinstalled, force stopped, cleared cache, logged out and back in (twice in a row, too, for that sync thing), disabled (and re-enabled) every setting. Nothing fixes this. What am I supposed to do to just listen to my music normally?

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

Kudos for all the troubleshooting you've tried so far. We understand you've already tried reinstalling the app on your device, but we'd like you to perform a clean (more thorough) reinstall of the Spotify app on your mobile phone to see if you notice any difference.

If the above doesn't do the trick, we'd like to gather some additional info. Please send us:

The make/model and exact OS of the affected device.
The exact Spotify version you're running there.
Does this happen if you open a different account on your phone? You can ask for the account of a relative or a friend to open it on your device and check.
A video recording. You can attach the video in mp4 format to your next reply, or upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public.

The Moderator read your question as though you are experiencing a significantly faster rate in playback speed.

I believe your question was, "why are songs playing slightly faster, not enough to really notice but fast enough to raise the pitch of every note by 1 step.

My opinion is, by increasing the playback speed a mere 5%, it increases the number of songs that can be streamed over a period by the same 5%, which translates into a 5% increase in Streaming revenue generated by the platform, which sadly is not fairly passed on to the copyright holders of the property being performed.

This makes it especially annoying to me as I find songs I sing in a public performance are a little more difficult to sing with on Spotify, because my voice is trained to the pitch the song was published with, which is slightly slower than what Spotify is streaming.
