Plus button missing in lock screen

I have Xiaomi redmi 13 note. Recently I noticed that the plus button is missing from the widget in the lock screen and also in the notification widget. I had a problem where the 'play now' bar was missing sometimes but for now it seems to fix after I updated the app. Unfortunately still without the plus bottom in the widget...

Already try to reinstall the app of course.

Any thoughts? Tnx

Thanks for reaching out to the Community and welcome!

The widget doesn't have the plus button included. You can check out more info about how it works and what it includes in this thread posted by one of our Stars.

Now, the notification window/flying bar that shows on your lock screen can vary between devices. For example, my Android mobile device doesn't have the plus button either, but my previous phone did. Did you previously have the Plus button on this same device? And did you notice if it changed after an update or a recent change? You could check your device's notifications settings. Some devices have the option to change the notification style from Brief to Detailed. If you see that option, try changing it.

On another note, if this changed recently, you can always try clearing the app's cache from Spotify's Settings > Storage > Clear cache. Or you can also try reinstalling the app to make sure everything is working correctly.

I see...

Actually I do have a new smartphone, and also I update the os not long ago...

I think that in the previous os I had the plus button, For sure in my last phone...

I wonder why there's differents between devices? It's not should be the same app for all android? Such a bummer...

Anyway, I tried to play with the settings and cache as you suggest. Didn't success to make a change though...

I have a problem with missing Spotify features after the newest android system update from MIUI to HyperOS, and I'm not the only one according to Reddit.

Issue I'm facing is that I've lost the add option in floating window of the control centre ono locked screen.

I'm using the same phone.

I did the hard factory reset, and reinstalled the app numerous times.

I've also reached support, where I was adviced to open this thread, as apparently they had no idea about missing buttons. I've also provide them with Reddit link with numerous people having all sort of different missing features and buttons AFTER HyperOS updates (Asian phone brands).

I'm not gonna pay for premium if I'm not gonna be able to use all the features. How is one so pose to "add" songs to his library when in locked screen, or to someone simply skip the song, as they're missing that button?

Hi, I changed my phone, Xioami 9 to 14T Pro. But some of the main features changed. The plus button or like button (old) doesn't show in notification bar. I think its very important for all users. I hope it will be fixed.

I believe this is dependent on the version of Android you're running / your phone's manufacturer. The (+) button should show when you expand the notification bar, could you give this a try?

I have the same issue, there is no plus button either on the lock screen or in the notification panel. In my case, it happened after updating the OS to Android 15. Before, with HyperOS and Android 14, I did have it. Thanks

I'm running on a 14TPro and also have that missing. Also, in podcasts, there's only a play/pause button in the widget. No install/reinstall/clear cache will solve it.

Thank you for all the replies.

We noticed you're mostly reporting this issue on Redmi/Xiaomi devices, so we've done some research and noticed that this appears to be a recurring issue with such devices and with MIUI in general. The consensus seems to be that this stems from limitations within the UI itself and is something outside of Spotify's influence. You can check this Reddit thread as well as this and this thread from the manufacturer community forums to learn more.

Hope this clears things up.
