Hey there @lani99,

We moved your post to the Help section as it fits better here, hope you don't mind.
Local Files are available on both desktop and mobile platforms. Chromebooks can run the Android app via the Google Play store.

What I'm thinking here is that you may be trying to use the Local Files option via your Chromebook's browser, which works only for iOS devices due to their specifics. For Chromebooks, I'd suggest downloading the app from the Play store instead 🙂

Note that any local track will only play on the device it is physically present on. A temporary sync between devices can be done if you have the app open on both platforms simultaneously but no content will actually be uploaded to Spotify and you will still need to have the same files present locally on both platforms.

Hope you'll find this info helpful. We're here for you in case any further questions arise.

i have an iphone, so i can make and listen to my local files on there, however it is so annoying that i can't on my chromebook!! some songs aren't on spotify / are but as an episode which means theres always a minute of silence during them, i would like to be able to have uninterrupted listening, especially as i pay for spotify premium.
