App disappears from home screen

My Question or Issue

After reinstalling (due to recent podcast issue) app on home screen disappears. The widget stays available and I can pull up Spotify from the full app menu, but my home screen shortcut is gone.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

I've tested this from an Android device and I was able to replicate the behavior. However, this also happened with all other apps when reinstalling them, so it seems to be the way Android works with the shortcuts.

To add the shortcut again, you just need to touch and hold the Spotify app icon from your app drawer, drag it to the home screen and drop it in the space you prefer.

Yes, that is true. I mean to say it has repeatedly disappeared from the
screen despite my replacing it to the home screen multiple times.

That's an odd behavior. To make sure the app was properly installed, would you mind confirming if you've already performed a clean reinstall on your device? If not, we'd recommend following the process mentioned in this article and restarting your device.

Also, make sure the OS of your Pixel 9a is up to date and that you don't have any pending Spotify updates.
