Spotify not auto resume playing

Hi.
When receiving a phone call or clicking on a YouTube video, Spotify stops playing which is fine. However, after either the call or the video ended, Spotify not automatically resumes playing. I also do have a Rdio subscription and Rdio auto resumes just fine. This is quite annoying to be frank and I hope Spotify Will fix it.

Have you tried a clean reinstall? It started playing again for me when I made a phone call, however I can confirm that it doesn't start playing when youtube is exited.

I have a feeling this may be an issue on Youtube's end, with the way they start the audio output, however you say rdio works fine - so that is unlikely.

I'll escalate this to the Spotify staff, and see if it is a known issue/unimplemented feature.

Yes, still an issue. Unfortunatley.

By the way, Google Music All Access has the same problem. Only Rdio so far seems to be able to have that working properly.

Still a problem in 2017 on my Samsung s8. When I was on the iPhone 6, Spotify would auto start playing again after the Facebook or YouTube video ends. Now it doesn't. Any fixes?

Yes. Me too. I used Spotify in my car. Previously it will resume the music after I ended the call. But now, it doesn’t anymore. I am using iPhone 5 by the way

Set your permissions for Spotify to allow "phone".

You can find this under settings - apps - Spotify - permissions
