Lossless files, added to your playlist via local files don't play on android device

I have done this for years, and there is lots of music out there that's not available on Spotify. Luckily, I have been able to have local files added to a playlist, and as long as I am connected to the same wi-fi network as my PC, the local files get downloaded to my Android phone.

This is still the case with mp3 files, but not with lossless files, even though Spotify is now offering Lossless audio on all devices.

What's up with this? - I've used Spotify for years but some times I feel like unsubscribing and use other streaming services to avoid the need to use local files for certain songs.

A fix for this would be fantastic, this is for me personally, a very big issue.

Hi there, @Taddy_P

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community!

The Lossless experience Spotify offers is within our own catalog (content availability depends on the artist/right holders). Hi-Fi audio formats might not be supported as local files. The local files feature supports MP3, MP4, and M4P files. Other formats like FLAC or WAV may play on the desktop app, but could be buggy or not sync to mobile devices. If you're using supported formats and still having some issues, ensure your audio files are not DRM-protected. You can check the file properties (under the "Details" tab in your File Explorer) for this information.

Also, make sure you are running the latest version of the Spotify app on all of your devices. In addition, you can give your vote to this idea about having FLAC files supported in mobile devices (if you subscribe to the idea or vote on it you can receive updates about this).

If you have any other doubts, just let us know!
