Talk to DJ but it doesn't listen

My Question or Issue

When I speak to the DJ, the ring flashes correctly indicating that it hears my voice, but the words I say are ignored and it goes back to playing whatever it was doing before. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and it makes no difference. Microphone permissions are on.

I think it worked once, but has stopped doing so.

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community.

It sounds frustrating not being able to use DJ as before. Could you check that your Spotify app is updated to the latest version following these steps?

If that doesn't do the trick, the next step would be a clean reinstallation of the Spotify app following these steps. Keep in mind that you'll need to re-download any downloaded music and podcasts after reinstalling the app.

If you're still running into trouble after these steps, could you let me know which device you're rocking, its operating system version, and the exact Spotify app version you're using? If you're unsure how to find this info, this support article will walk you through the steps.

As mentioned in my original message, it's a Pixel 9a, running android 16 and I have reinstalled the app with the latest version .

The version number is 9.1.6.1145

Thanks for the reply.

Do you have any headphones, wired or wireless, connected when doing so? Does that make any difference to to the behaviour? It's possible the app is defaulting to a different microphone, which is causing the issue.

If possible, could you also try logging in on a different Android device and testing if the same happens there? This will greatly help narrow down the root cause.
