Can't log into app

I can log in and use spotify on web version without no issues, but it keeps erroring any time I try to login in the app. I've done all I could such as restarting phone, clearing cache and data or reinstalling app and I even get the permium subscription a weak after facing the issue.

I'm on a permium subscription. My device is xiaomi redmi note 9 pro, android 11.

Same problem for me. Desktop app bounces to web login, logged in ok, then app fails with:

Service it temporarily unavailable. please try again later. (Error code: desktop_login_account:3)

Going on for about 20 hours now.

Sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with logging in. @Weree you mentioned that you have issues when logging on to the website as well, right?

We would advise to follow the troubleshooting steps listed in this article, It lists out a few possible ways to fix such issues.

Hello, thanks for the reply.

I've read it already and done all them multiple times, I even subscribed to premium after a week I faced the problem but non of them helped. I was thinking it might be an issue on my account in database info, so I was trying to contact with supporting. Is there a way I could do something for it?

it's so important for me to reach the app dou to more accesses I have there

I was able to resolve my login problem to the Spotify Desktop app.
My default browser was Microsoft Edge. I switched default to Google Chrome. (Windows Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Click Google Chrome and set as default)
Opened Spotify Desktop App, clicked Login, Spotify login window on Chrome browser popped up, logged in, and went back to Spotify App. Working ok again. Switch default browser back to Edge. All good.

I can login to Spotify browser app no problem. Issue was with desktop app login. Resolved - see reply below.

Hello, i have been unable to get the spotify app to open a browser tab when i hit the login so i have not been able to log in on my computer in the app only the web player. any help would be greatly appreciated

Just got a new HP Elitedesk desktop running Windows 10 Enterprise. A previous version of this desktop was able to run the Spotify app just fine but for some reason I can't sync the app up to my account.

Internet connection works perfectly fine and I can play Spotify through the web player, but just can't connect on the app and the app stays on the log-in screen. I occasionally run across an Error Code: auth:1 message but I've gone through help threads looking for solutions via that with no luck.

I've uninstalled the app, I've downloaded it from Spotify directly, I've downloaded it from the Microsoft store. Each time I've downloaded it, same issue. Unsure of what to do at this point.

Same issue, after changing my password through Spotify web I was unable to login to the Spotify Windows desktop app, saying my email or password is incorrect. When I login via Facebook instead of email it seems to work though, so far at least.

im entering an email that i’m pretty sure i used when logging in, but it’s not linked to an account, so it’s not what i used. i should have been able to log in if my passwords transferred since when i created the account, i was using a device that’s battery would later get bloated and break. so i got my data transferred to another device but my passwords manager didn’t save any of my passwords so i made this account instead. i tried retrieving the old account by entering the username but i couldnt remember the random string of numbers and letters. i know it was pretty dumb of me to rely on my password manager but yeah i did anyway.

how do i retrieve this account?
