My Question or Issue

Hi everyone,

I recently received an email from Spotify stating that my app version is outdated and will soon require an update, with a note that login may no longer be supported shortly.

Currently, I’m using an Android APK version 8.9.38.494 (from May 2024), and everything seems to be working fine.

I wanted to check:

Do I need to update the app immediately?
Will I lose access or be unable to log in if I continue using this version?
Is this a general notification sent to all users, or triggered by specific app versions/devices?

Appreciate any clarification from the community. Thanks!

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

The current/updated version of the Android app is 9.1.34. In that case, I suggest you to update the app. Also, it's better to use only the official app directly downloaded from the Play Store, not any other APK, or the app may malfunction.

The email said that Spotify version release before 2022 would become outdated and won't work. It means I am safe for now and don't have to update to the latest version immediately. Right?
