Song Crossover

In all the playlists I play from my Samsung S24 Ultra phone, each song has 1 to 2 seconds cut out at the end and a hard crossfade happens into the next song. I don't have crossfade on, I don't have automix on, I have volume normalisation on at normal volume but I turned it off a few times to see it it would make a difference, it hasn't. I've dealt with this issue more frequently now and its driving me insane.

It happens more often the longer I am playing music. I've uninstalled and re-installed, turned my phone off and on again and nothing changes.

Can someone help figure this out please?

That's strange if you have already checked the main settings, this should not happen. Could you please check a few things:

Does this happen only on that specific mobile device or other platforms as well? You can try the desktop app or the web player to check.
Is this happening for specific playlists or albums, or all of them?
Try enabled disabling shuffle to confirm if this turns on/off as well.
Make sure your app and the mobile OS is updated to the latest version.
If none of the above works and it is a device specific problem, try a clean install of the Spotify app using this guide.

It happens on my phone only

Its happening to everything where there is a queue of songs

I've tried the clean install before and the issue keeps coming back

This issue is more noticeable once I've connected a bluetooth device, like my car for example, and been playing songs for over 15 minutes

Thanks for the reply @jssmth5.

I'd recommend checking if the location permission is enabled for the Spotify Mobile App. You can then test if the problem persists when using other car connections like AUX/USB, or CarPlay.

Change the network on both devices and make sure they are both using the same internet connection. This could give us some evidence if the problem is network related.

Another set of testing we can do is notice the problem in both cases: listening only on the mobile device without connecting to any secondary device VS connecting different devices like headphones, TV, etc.

Location permissions are turned on

I've tried the USB connection with my car and it still happens.

Changing to mobile data instead of wifi still results in the same thing.

Connecting to headphones and having the phone speaker play the songs still results in the same thing.

I see @jssmth5. In that case, you can create a new account. Let's see if the problem is account specific.

You can create a new account using another email and see if that makes any difference.

I created a new account but it seems to still happen, this also happens with ads

Got it @jssmth5. Is there any battery saver or optimization option enabled on your phone?

You can also check if the Spotify app is given background permissions so the OS doesn't try to interfere when it's not in focus.
