Transitions are not saving in Edit Playlist mode. The transitions will not save until you save the entire edit. If you update a transition while in edit mode, the save doesn't stick. That means, when you hit Save on a transition and go back to the list, if you go back into the transition you just saved, it will reset to Auto and you have to do it again. That also means that all of my mixed playlists are no longer mixed in a loop, because the transitions between the last and first songs are being reset to Auto.

Thanks for posting on the Community and for sharing a video of the issue. It helps us understand exactly what you're seeing.

To help us narrow this down, could you confirm if the transitions still reset when you edit them directly between two tracks in the playlist, rather than going through the 'Edit' playlist menu first?

If you've not done these steps already, consider giving them a try in case any of them make a difference:

Log out > back in twice in a row for a resync of the device and account.
A clean reinstall, as corrupted cache can cause different performance issues.
Test with another network connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data shared via hotspot).
Duplicate the playlist (tap the three dots > 'Add to other playlist') as the original one's database may be corrupted.

As a quick note regarding the playlist loop, there's currently no option to set custom transitions between the very last and first track of a mixed playlist. However, there's an existing similar Live Idea here which you can vote for if you'd like to show support.

Hi. I have done all of the log in/out, reinstall, restart phone steps repeatedly.

The transition saves fine when not in edit mode, but the problem is, because it doesn't save in edit mode, my playlists no longer loop. I had custom transitions between the first and last songs of all of my playlists. Now, those transitions are all reset to Auto, because the transitions won't save in edit mode.

And I want to address your claim that there is no option for custom transitions between the first and last songs. I don't know what it's like in other regions, but I'm in the US and this has always been an option since the mix feature was released. I had every one of my mixes set up this way. It was just ruined with the recent update.

And the link you referenced has nothing to do with my issue.

Thanks for keeping in contact!

If you reorder the tracks in one of your playlists, you could lose any custom transitions and it will revert to Auto-mix (auto option on each track). Keep in mind the Mix feature is quite new, so there is currently no option to set a transition between the last and the first track of a Mixed playlist.

As you mentioned the link we've sent before wasn't very useful and in case you think your idea should be considered as separate, feel free to submit it here taking our guidelines into account.

It's unfortunate that I have to repeat myself. Even though the feature is new, I have hundreds of hours of experience with mixed playlists. I have been curating my mixed playlists almost daily since August '25. I know how they work. I have never had an issue reordering songs and keeping my transitions. And I have always been able to create a custom transition between the last and first song. The details of my playlists literally say "Mixed to Loop" because I had custom transitions between the last and first songs of all of my playlists. This only changed with the April '26 app update. I will submit a new idea for them to put the feature back how it was before they broke it. However, I don't anticipate it getting much traction because I have not seen anyone use this feature as earnestly as I have. It would have been better if they didn't break it in the first place.

Spotify Smart Reorder is not saving playlist changes.

Steps to reproduce:
• Open playlist
• Tap “Mix”
• Tap “Edit”
• Tap “Smart Reorder”
• Spotify loads and displays a newly reordered playlist
• Tap “Save”

Expected result:
Playlist saves in the new Smart Reorder arrangement.

Actual result:
Playlist immediately reverts back to the original order after saving.

Additional findings:
• Manual drag-and-drop reordering works normally when Smart Reorder is NOT used
• If Smart Reorder is used first, even manually moving songs afterward still does not save
• Happens across multiple Spotify accounts
• Happens across multiple devices
• Happens on multiple playlists
• Force closing/reinstalling does not fix it
• App is fully updated

Spotify version:
9.1.46.1934

This appears to be isolated specifically to Smart Reorder functionality rather than playlist syncing or permissions.

@NBGGBG sorry for the misunderstanding before. Apparently, the mix feature might not be working as it should at the moment. To investigate this further, make sure to send over this info if you haven't already:

The affected device's make, model and OS version.
The exact Spotify version you're currently running.
All troubleshooting steps you've already tried.
Since when is this happening? Did it start after an app's update or some other specific situation?
