Plan: Premium Country: USA Device: Tecno Spark 20 Pro+ Operating System: Android 14 Spotify Version: [Insert your exact Spotify app version number here] My Question or Issue: Hi everyone, I am experiencing severe UI scrolling lag and frame drops when using the Android app. Specifically, when navigating through my playlists or the home feed on my device's 120Hz display, the app stutters heavily and seems to struggle to render album art and Canvas videos smoothly. It feels like the refresh rate is dropping significantly. To try and fix this myself before posting, I have already completed the following troubleshooting steps: Clean Reinstall: I cleared the app cache, deleted the app data, uninstalled Spotify, restarted my phone, and installed a fresh version directly from the Play Store. The lag is still present. Network Check: I have tested this on multiple high-speed Wi-Fi networks as well as mobile data to ensure it wasn't just a slow loading issue. The stuttering happens immediately regardless of connection speed. Device Settings: I have confirmed my phone is set to a forced 120Hz refresh rate, and I do not have any battery saver or restriction modes enabled for the Spotify app. Other media-heavy apps scroll perfectly fine at 120Hz on this device, so it seems isolated to the Spotify app's rendering. Thanks for reaching out and for the extensive troubleshooting already covered.

We've informed our folks backstage about this behaviour and it seems to be consistent with other similar reports happening on Android devices. Although we can't provide you with an immediate timeframe in which it is going to get resolved, rest assured that this is on our radar.

In the meantime, we'd like to ask you to update the app as there should be a newer version out now and to see if anything changes. If the behaviour is the same, see if reducing the refresh rate would improve things as a workaround for the time being:

Fully close all open apps.
Open Settings on your phone.
Tap Display & Brightness.
Select Screen Refresh Rate.
Switch from High (120Hz) to Standard (60Hz) or Auto-switch.
Launch Spotify and monitor how it behaves.
