- VW Golf MK7 (2016)
- AUTOABC wireless Android Auto adapter
- Firmware: KHD-AD-ZLT-2026.06.01-v5.0

Devices tested

Galaxy S24
- One UI 8.5
- Android Auto 17.4.663044
- Spotify 9.1.76.2055
- Result: FAIL

Galaxy A55
- Android Auto 17.3.662854
- Spotify 9.1.72.1891
- Result: PASS

Galaxy A55
- Android Auto 17.3.662854
- Spotify 9.1.76.2055
- Result: FAIL

Steps to reproduce

1. Connect wirelessly to Android Auto.
2. Open Waze.
3. Open Spotify.
4. Switch Spotify to full screen.
5. After several seconds the head unit displays "Spotify isn't responding".

Additional information

- Split-screen (Waze + Spotify) continues to work.
- Only the car displays the error.
- The phone itself does not show Spotify crashing.
- The issue began after updating Spotify to 9.1.76.2055.

My Question or Issue

Spotify crashes on Android auto after most recent update on 8/18/26. Followed all troubleshooting tips available. Checked on my husband's car and does the same. So its not my vehicles infotainment issue thats the issue. Everything was running g great until the software auto updated. Unfortunately no way to undo the update. Spotify only crashes when you open the full program, but will run in the background and continue playing the music if left in the background only and not selected as the main app.

I have the same issue using wired android auto on a 2023 Hyundai Tucson. I have a Pixel 8 and I use google map, however each time I put Spotify into full screen the app stop working but if I go back to split screen I can still pause/change song so the app is not really "not working".

Same spotify version 9.1.76.2055.

Yes mine is wired as well, but a 2025 Honda HR-V, but had same issue on my husband's wireless connection

I'm seeing similar behavior - Spotify crashing, with message "Spotify is not responding" and asking to "Exit" or "Wait". This happens on two different cars, both running Android Auto - one is wired, and the other is wireless. This just started happening this month. My Spotify version is also 9.1.76.2055.

Phone is Google Pixel 10 Pro XL, running Android 17.

I have cleared cache, cleared storage, completely uninstalled/re-installed and rebooted my phone multiple times. No change.

Thank you for the reports! This should be fixed in Android Auto version 17.5.x, so try updating it manually from the Google Play Store.

**Same issue on Mazda CX-60 / Galaxy S24 Ultra**

I'm experiencing exactly the same issue.

**Phone:** Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

**OS:** Android 16 / One UI 8.5

**Android Auto:** 17.4.663044

**Spotify:** 9.1.76.2055

**Connection:** Wireless Android Auto

**Car:** Mazda CX-60

**Steps to reproduce:**

1. Connect the S24 Ultra to the Mazda CX-60 using wireless Android Auto.

2. Start Spotify and play music.

3. Google Maps and Spotify work normally in split-screen.

4. Open Spotify so that it becomes the full-screen Android Auto app.

5. After a few seconds, the Mazda display shows **"Spotify isn't responding"** with **Exit / Wait**.

6. The music itself continues playing.

7. Returning to the Android Auto split-screen allows Spotify to continue working and I can still control playback.

The problem does not appear to be the Mazda infotainment system itself because Spotify continues playing and works in split-screen.

This started with Spotify 9.1.76.2055.

Please let me know if you need any additional logs or diagnostic information.

I'm having the exact same issue in my Lincoln Nautilus. Started in the last couple of weeks. When switching Spotify to full-screen view, the display shows "Spotify isn't responding" after one or two seconds. After that, I cannot pause/play, switch albums, etc.

**Phone:** Pixel Pro 10 XL

**OS:** Android 17

**Android Auto:** 17.4.663044-release

**Spotify:** 9.1.76.2055

**Connection:** Wired Android Auto

**Car:** Lincoln Nautilus 2020

**Steps to reproduce:**

1. Connect the Pixel Pro 10 XL to the Lincoln Nautilus using wired Android Auto.

2. Start Spotify and play music.

3. Spotify and other apps work normally in split-screen.

4. Open Spotify so that it becomes the full-screen Android Auto app.

5. After a few seconds, the Lincoln display shows **"Spotify isn't responding"** with **Exit / Wait**.

6. The music itself continues playing, even after choosing Exit.

7. Returning to the Android Auto split-screen allows Spotify to continue working, and I can still control playback.

Temp fix...

I uninstalled the newest version. Sideloaded the older version 9.1.28.2249

Then turned off auto updating in the play store. This fixed the issue for me. Once they get it fixed turn on auto update to get the latest version.
