Hi,

I just bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 today. I read that Spotify Connect was just released for Android (November 25), so I was thrilled.

Somehow the speaker icon doesn't show up in Spotify when in Now Playing, so I cannot select my Airport Express speakers. Are they not compatible? I don't know what to do. iTunes does show the icon and lets me play via the speakers.

Help! 😞

Hi.

Connect is not the same as airplay and only works with a connect enabled hardware device. Also, connect is still rolling out as far as I know so you may not have it yet.

The big difference is that connect doesn't stream but transfers the currently playing track/playlist to the connect-enabled device which has its own spotify app built in. To my mind this offers several advantages over the airplay streaming solution.
