Locating audio effects

Okay, I have a HTC One Max and it lost the Beats settings, and I've seen a lot of things that say Spotify has an equalizer type audio effects. I may be one of a million people asking this, but where are the effects located? I absolutely can not figure it out.

for me, till today nothing can beat "hTC One M7" in term of audio with capability The Beats audio codec. Since Apple take it all The Beats, everything gonna be worst... But... The one and only audio codec similar with The Beats are "Dirac HD". Earlier only on Meizu smartphones. Lately, it was build in Oppo smartphones.. But I can't be sure all model or certain model only.
