Hey there..
As a German user please be patient with my grammar.

My connect setup
Sender: galaxy s4 playlist in shuffle mode
Player: nexus 7 connected to a set of boxes

Problem
After picking a playlist with my s4, I turn off the display. A few songs later, I turn it on again. The song currently playing on the n7 gets interrupted by the random song from the same playlist my s4.

Possible solution
The sleep mode on my s4 disables the connection via wifi. N7 plays on its own. Wakening the s4 reconnects to wifi and to n7. While disconnected, a random song from the playlist should play on n7 but there is no connection. Reconnecting so causes trouble.

Hope you understood the problem.
HobiToo

I use connect all the time although not between mobile devices so I just tried your steps and couldn't reproduce this. I do notice that, when I wake the device from which I started playback on a connected device, it takes a moment for it to catch up and display the track currently playing. Can you try reinstalling spotify on both devices and see if the problem continues?
