Tha Carter V by lil wayne was supposed to be released today May 5th. Ive searched multiple times and cant find the album. The album "X" By chris brown is also supposed to release today and also is not on spotify. What is going on?

New releases don't normally appear on Spotify the same day as they hit stores and download sites, they are normally a couple of days behind. The main reason being, record labels still want to try and sell music rather than let people stream it as they make more money that way.

Unfortunately, Spotify are pretty powerless to do anything about it since it is up to the record labels to add content to Spotify, not the other way around.

Appreciate it. I've never had problems downloading an album the day it comes out. This was the first time. I couldn't even find it on itunes.

It took us a year to get Taylor Swift - Red after it was released... the lengths they will go to to sell music. 😛
