Apple headphones with remote and mic—skip songs, control volume

Spotify on my iPhone works fine with Apple's headphones with remote and mic—you can use it to play/pause music, control volume, and skips songs.

Spotify on Android doesn't work with them—all I can do is play/pause musc. You can't skip or control volume.

The earphones are Apple's new ones—"earpods".

I'm using a Nexus 4 with Android 4.2.1, and Spotify 0.5.5.1.3.

Actually, it looks like it's not just a Spotify issue—they're incompatible with Android. I wonder if there's a way Spotify can fix it though.

You should be able to click twice on the middle button, then the volume up. this should skip to the next song.

on the apple headphones: middle click, middle click, volume up.
