Importand notice for spotify users???

Hello,

After i got the email saing that someone has hacked the spotify server i tried to open my spotify mobile app on my samsung galaxy mini

I got a message saing that i should update my spotify app. when i tab on "Download" I will go to the play store.

In the top of the screen i get a black message saing: "Your device is not compettebel whit this version" but i ran the spotify app on my phone for 2 years now, why doesn't it work anymore?

If i go to the play store myself and search for spotify i CAN download the app but when i open it i get the "You need to update your spotify..." message again

Can anybody help me?

Hi. It looks like some "older/cheaper" devices running ARM 5 or 6 are no longer supported. Check out this thread.

The new version of Spotify we have been forced to downlaod/uprade is not supported by some older phones. By that I mean anything up to six months ago. This was done without prior notice or warnig.

Spotify do not seem to want to listen to anyone posting similar non compatability issues due to the forced upgrade.

Not so best practice customer service!

You'd sure think they might have had time to update the FAQ by now, to prevent people from downloading/subscribing that have incompatible devices. But that would've required the support team talk to the developers and then the website team. That could've taken a whole 10 minutes and three emails! Can you even IMAGINE doing all that work???
