Android and PC using Spotify Connect. Connects as a device, no control

I'm having an issue with Spotify Connect being fully functional. My Android phone connects to PC and shows my playlists but doesn't allow me to control music either way. PC does not show up on mobile app.

The PC does have a WIRED connection to the router while the phone is of course connected via WIFI.

I have the most updated versions (to date) on each.

Spotify Connect is not available on desktops. There seems to be some confusion with the word "connect" shown under Devices in the desktop client but this relates solely to synching local files from the desktop to android, not to Spotify Connect.

My friend can control his Macbook and Windows PC through his Galaxy S4 using spotify connect, but I can't. What gives?

Hi,

Connect for Desktop is on a per-user roll out so whilst your friend may have it available to their profle it may not be ready on yours.

First just make sure any firewalls you have aren't blocking the connection and that you are on the same WiFi. If these statements are true and you still cannot connect then I recommend you contact Spotify Support using the form here and they may be able to update your account.

You will get an automated reply at first, however if you need to chase them just reply to the email as it does get monitored.
