Laptop does not show on android app using Connect

I've started to discover Spotify Connect and thought I'd be able to play songs on my laptop using my phone via Spotify connect. However no device shows up on on my android phone.

I know the phone is connected as it shows up on Spotify on my laptop....

Any help, solutions or advice would be appreciated.

Hello!

Connect is not currently available for desktop/laptops, you can add your kudos to this topic here, any news regarding this will be posted there 🙂 The phone shows up on Spotify under devices when it is under the same wifi so you can sync offline and local files to the Spotify app on your mobile phone/tablet (different from connect).

So it's not possible to play music on your laptop/desktop when u started Spotify on your Android device?

You can't switch seamlessly to the laptop as you can with connect devices.
