HORROR - Spotify device management

The Spotify programming is perfect when it comes to administrate payment and subscription. But it seems unable to count to three.

I have always had exactly 3 Android devices working, not more, and not less. On all is Spotify installed. As a frequent traveller I am often and longer times away from my home country. Knowing this going online obligation every month, before my trip I went online on all devices 3 weeks ago - Spotify-message: go online after 29 days. Now, after three weeks, all of a sudden, I don't have offline access on one of my devices, my tablet. Switched off and on, Spotify works, ok! Then, on my mobile, message: you installed Spotify on more than 3 devices.....what?????

AGAIN I had to download, as so many times in the last months. So there is a severe programming glitch at this corner, and that this since years obviously. Can it be that this happens, after Spotify is updated via Google Play?? Apart from that, the Spotify system is so stupidly programmed, that it even is unable to differentiate between my Android devices, unable to provide a unique id and name for each of them, so that I can see on the website exactly WHICH Android device it counts as an offline device... Many other apps I have recognice exactly the devices I have, so this is no rocket science....

This useless repeating effort steals not only my time, but burdens Spotify network. Why don't you just fire the responsible programmers and hire proper ones? But maybe Spotify is still focussed on that manic teens which are only on their way between their highspeed internet PC access at home and the schoolyard and which have all the time of the world during their week to do that bull**bleep** job - and not focussed on adults where the money is.... Anyway, I start looking around for Spotify competitors which are able to manage offline devices better....

Dear Anthony, sorry, you have obviously NOT READ my post word by word. Your link is exactly that improper license management tool which I mentioned. This endless resetting and new downloading of the always exactly same 3 Android devices deeply pisses me off!

Hi,

I understand your frustration being a frequent traveller myself, however there's no need to direct it at someone trying to help. We are a community and are paying users just like yourself. In regards to your problem have you tried contacting Spotify Support using the form here. It may be some bug on the server side of your account which is registering your device twice possibly.

You will get an automated reply at first, however if you need to chase them just reply to the email as it does get monitored.

thanks a lot, Daniel for your suggestion! I did what you suggested, let's see....

I doubt that without a total fresh Spotify licensing management approach there will be anything better in the forseeable future.

Or they clearly say, that one or two devices are guaranteed, not more. The current Spotify solution however where in my list of offline devices it's just mentioned "Android" - not giving a hint exactly which device is actually registered as offline or not - is a lowlevel, unprofessional and unacceptable programming.

I agree. That is annoying and it would be good to at least get the device profile. Let me know what spey come back with.
