The Spotify app doesn't transfer anything over NFC.

You won't be able to transfer over album collections or anything in Your Music. (would have to save them to "Your Music" manually)

However, if you use the share option to send your playlists one by one via an email, you can then open the playlist from the email on her phone, and it will open inside of the Spotify app. You can then follow the playlists. The only difference is that the actual playlist is not on her account, but on yours. Following the playlist will make it appear on her list so she can see them.

That would be less manual work after the playlists are followed.

My wife and I both have Samsung Galaxy 3s android phones. We each have downloaded the Spotify app to our phones. I have already constructed quite an extensive collection of albums and two playlists on my phone. Is there a way to transfer those albums and playlists to my wife's phone? I have tried to do this by activating the Near Field Communications functions on each phones, opening an album or play list on my phone, opening Spotify on my wife's phone, and then tapping the back of the phones together, but no music transferred.

Can anyone offer some ideas or do I have repeat all the Browse/Search steps on my wife's phone to that I executed on my phone to build the duplicate music library on her phone.

We are not active on Facebook, nor do we have Twitter accounts. However, we each have a Gmail account. Can the music be shared from my phone to my wife's Gmail account and then moved from her Gmail to her phone. If so, how?

Thanks for any help!

Hmm a little confusing but if you both have separate accounts you can actually ask support to transfer playlists to another account, as if you're moving to that one let's say. Just fill out this form by clicking here and telling them what you need and where you need the transfer.

Hope it solves your issue.

Happy Spotifying!

Thank you for your input. However, to be clear, my goal here is to have the same playlists and albums reside on each of our phones. Our music tastes are siimilar, but we are not always sharing the same physical space so she could be listenting to the music on her phone via her account and via her phone, and I could be doing the same at another locale via my phone and my Spotify account.

So, can we easly duplicate the Spotify music library I have assembled on my phone on her phone as well?

Thank you.

I got it so far, thank for the further input. But, when my wife plays that play list that she received from me on her phone, is whatever data she is using charged against her monthly data allotment with her cell phone provider (T-Mobile) or mine (Verizon)?

It would be her cellphone provider.

You playlist is stored on Spotify's server. When she plays your playlist on her phone, she is streaming it from Spotify's server.

Also if you have a premium subscription you can download the playlists to your phone on WiFi so that when you are on the go you can switch on "offline mode" so you don't use ay data.

Guide on how to do that here:

https://support.spotify.com/learn-more/guides/#!/article/Listen-offline

Just click on the Android tab

It would also make sense that your wife follows your profile in Spotify, as she can see all your public playlists and recently listened artists then on an overview page. You can make your playlists public by right-clicking them in the sidebar.
