Spotify Connect while device is locked

I want to use my old rooted Android device as Spotify-"server" to stream to my home audio system. I control it over my regular smartphone with Spotify Connect.
When i leave the app or lock (without code) the device, it is marked as "not avaliable" in the connect section on my smartphone. How can I fix this problem?

I can normally see my device even when it's in sleep.

Do you have any task killing apps on your phone such as JuiceDefender, CleanMaster etc?

Also make sure your power options aren't set to disable data when the phone goes to sleep.

Make sure the device is on charge otherwise it will sleep and render the app unconnectable.

I don't know if there is an option to disable this but it worked for me.

Checked this - and it worked for me when disabling "Power Saving" on my Galaxy (Y)
