Music keeps cutting out

I have Moto E LTE on Android Lollipop 5.0.2. When I exit the app to web surf. 10 minutes after browsing the Spotify app stops 😕

Sounds to me like Android (or another app) closing the process. Do you have any apps designed to save battery, clean cache or manage tasks? Thisnk like CleanMaster, JuiceDefender etc?

If so either disable and see if the issue persists or add SPotify to the apps WhiteList.

I dont install those kind of apps, they do more harm than good

Yes they do :) Unfortunately it does sound like Android is closing the process... or maybe another player is grabbing the hook into the audio output.There's not a lot Spotify can do about this as it's control from some other source; you could maybe try a clean install to see if that helps?

Yeah... Me to, I was on spotify right now listening to the shiz by snoop dogg. Then I went to Google to look at stuff from zumiez 2 mins later. The **bleep**ing music cut off. 😤😤😤

I have had this issue for several months...it seems like it is related to an upgrade as I have the same phone....same settings.

Hey everyone!

This could be tied to battery optimization as stated before, Android has this feature included which could be causing this.

Try heading to Settings > Battery > tap the three-dot icon at the top
> Battery optimisation > tap the drop-down arrow > All apps > Spotify > Don't optimize.

If that doesn't do the trick, try reinstalling Spotify to see if it helps.

neither are turned on

That's odd!

What Android and Spotify version are you using?

Did you try reinstalling Spotify to see if it happens again? Also, does this happen when you listen to other media via the browser?

my carrier did a network refresh for me to see if that would correct it
about two weeks ago. And it did actually for about two days, then it went
back to cutting out.

version 8.4.45.633

I've had the exact same problem just over the last week. All my settings have been triple checked and are fine. There haven't been any major system updates, don't have any cleaner apps and I haven't installed any new apps. Nobody seems to have any solutions.

Just to confirm, does the same happen if you use a different internet connection, or is it only when you use 3/4G?

Do you have access to a different Android phone you could use to see if it behaves the same?

it happens when I use wifi or just pure data connection. No I do not have
access to another phone.
